Julio Villalobos

Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Julio Villalobos, and I’m honored to be serving as the Principal of Bahia Vista Elementary School. For more than 20 years, I’ve dedicated my career to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally — and to building schools where every child feels valued, challenged, and inspired.

Most recently, I spent the past two years as Principal of Miwok Valley Elementary Charter School, where our team worked together to renew the school’s charter with a new focus on language and literacy. Along the way, we earned the California PBIS Coalition Gold Award for creating a positive and supportive school environment. Before that, I served as principal, assistant principal, academic coordinator, and counselor in several California districts, giving me a well-rounded perspective on how to help students succeed at every level.

I hold a Doctorate in Educational Leadership for Social Justice from California State University, East Bay, along with a Master’s in Counseling from Loyola Marymount University and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from UCLA. Being fluent in Spanish has also helped me connect with families and students from diverse backgrounds — something I consider a cornerstone of my work.

When I’m not at school, you can usually find me reading, exploring new places, or spending time with family and friends. I believe in leading with empathy, high expectations, and a sense of possibility — because every child’s future is worth investing in.

I’m excited for all we’ll accomplish together at Bahia Vista!

In service,

Julio Villalobos, Ed.D.
