Principal Message

Dear Bahia Vista Families,

Parent Teacher Association
At our school, we believe that strong partnerships between families and educators are essential to every child’s success. When parents are engaged, students feel more supported, more confident, and more connected to their learning community. Your involvement truly makes a difference.
This year, we are excited to offer several opportunities for meaningful parent engagement, beginning with our Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The PTA plays a vital role in enriching student experiences, supporting teachers, and strengthening the bond between home and school. Whether you can volunteer time, share ideas, or simply stay informed, your participation is valuable.

We would also like to invite those interested to run for a leadership position within the PTA (President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary). Serving as a PTA officer is a wonderful way to help shape school initiatives, build community, and advocate for our students. If you are passionate about supporting our school and eager to collaborate with fellow parents and staff, we encourage you to consider stepping into a leadership role.

More details about PTA membership and the election process will be shared at the coffee with the principal event on Thursday December 4, at 8 pm in the family resource center. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out with any questions or to express your interest. Thank you for your continued partnership and for all you do to support our school. Together, we can make this a successful and inspiring year for every student.

TK/Kinder Information Night
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Information Night! This is a wonderful opportunity for parents and guardians to learn more about our programs, understand enrollment eligibility, and get your questions answered. You’ll hear about our full-day TK and Kindergarten offerings, enriched learning environments, and the caring, credentialed teachers who will support your child’s growth.

Whether your child will be four or five years old by September 1, 2026, or you are simply beginning to explore options, we encourage you to join us. Our team will be available to guide you through the registration process and share what makes our early learning programs joyful, engaging, and developmentally supportive.
We look forward to partnering with you as you prepare for this exciting next step in your child’s educational journey!

In service,
Julio Villalobos

Youth Truth Family Surveys

Dear Bahia Vista Parent or Guardian,
I am writing to ask for ~15 minutes of your time to complete an online survey that will help us improve your child’s school. We have asked YouthTruth – a nonprofit organization that supports hundreds of schools and districts across the country – to conduct an anonymous survey on our behalf.

Please take the survey before it closes at midnight on Friday, December 19 by clicking this link: ytsurvey.org/srcsfamily25

Please note:
  • The survey needs to be completed in one sitting.
  • We ask that one member of each household fill out the survey.
  • If you have more than one child who attends the same school, you may respond to the survey multiple times - one time per child.
  • If you write any comments, please do not include your name or anything else that might identify you. Your responses are anonymous, and they will be combined with the responses of other parents and guardians before being shared back with school and district leadership.

We sincerely thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Your response is incredibly valuable to us. If you have any questions about the survey, or our plans for how we will use your feedback, please contact the main office.

In service,
Julio Villalobos

Attendance Matters!

At Bahia Vista Elementary School,

We believe that every day counts. Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in ensuring student success. When students are present, they engage in learning, build strong habits, and strengthen our school community.

I am excited to share that from November 17-20th, our students showed great commitment to being present and ready to learn. A special congratulations goes out to Ms. Cherian's, Ms. DISanto's and Ms. Solano's Class with a 100% attendance rate for primary grade (TK-2nd) and Ms. Tran’s & Ms. Brand's class with a 98.96% attendance rate for upper grades (3rd-5th grade).

All classes were given a dragon stuff animal that they keep for the week and return it at our next PBIS rally. Your dedication to showing up every day sets a shining example for our entire school.

Let’s continue to make attendance a priority. Together, we can help our students build a bright future—one school day at a time!
