Principal Message

Dear Bahia Vista Families,

Kona Ice
We’re excited to share that Kona Ice will be on campus at the end of dismissal this Friday, January 23. Students will have the opportunity to purchase a refreshing treat as they head home.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
We invite you to join us for our upcoming Parent Teacher Association (PTA) General Association Meeting on Thursday, January 22, from 8:00–9:00 a.m. in the Family Resource Center.
This meeting is a wonderful opportunity to stay informed, share your voice, and collaborate with school staff and other families in support of our students. We encourage all parents and guardians to attend and be an active part of our school community.
We look forward to seeing you there and appreciate your continued partnership and support.

Parent Institute for Quality Education (PiQE)
At Bahia Vista Elementary, we believe that strong schools are built on strong partnerships with families. I am excited to share a wonderful example of this commitment to parent engagement and collaboration.
Last week, the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PiQE) held its first parent workshop with our Bahia Vista community. This introductory session focused on acclimating families to PiQE and the powerful resources it offers to support students and families. We are proud to share that 175 families joined us virtually, demonstrating an incredible level of engagement and dedication to student success.

Through PiQE, families have access to meaningful learning opportunities, including:
  • Strategies to build your student’s positive self-esteem
  • Tools to navigate the school system with confidence
  • Guidance to prepare a college-going plan
  • Information on online safety and security
  • Opportunities to expand digital skills for today’s online world
  • Access to new family resources and academic supports — and so much more

We are grateful to our families for making time to participate and to PiQE for partnering with us to empower parents as leaders and advocates in their children’s education. When families are informed, connected, and supported, students thrive.

We invite you to join us for our next PiQE Parent Engagement Workshop on Wednesday, January 21 at 6:00 PM, held virtually via Zoom (Link)

Workshop Topic: Supporting the Academic Achievement of Students. This session will provide families with practical strategies and tools to support student learning and academic success at home and at school.

Thank you for being active partners in our school community. We look forward to continuing this important work together and welcoming even more families to future PiQE sessions.

In service,
Julio Villalobos

Attendance Matters!

At Bahia Vista Elementary School,

We believe that every day counts. Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in ensuring student success. When students are present, they engage in learning, build strong habits, and strengthen our school community.

I am excited to share that from January 12-15th, our students showed great commitment to being present and ready to learn. A special congratulations goes out to Ms.Eagle- Smith & Ms. Solano’s Class with a 100% attendance rate for primary grade (TK-2nd) and Ms. Maldonado's with a 100% attendance rate for upper grades (3rd-5th grade).

All classes were given a dragon stuff animal that they keep for the week and return it at our next PBIS rally. Your dedication to showing up every day sets a shining example for our entire school.

Let’s continue to make attendance a priority. Together, we can help our students build a bright future—one school day at a time!
