Important: Upcoming State Testing for 3rd–5th Grade
As we head into May, it is time for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students to show what they’ve learned this year! Please mark your calendars for the upcoming state and diagnostic assessments.
Testing Schedule

CAASPP Testing (3rd–5th Grade): Tuesday, May 12 – Tuesday, May 19, 2026

CAST (Science) (5th Grade Only): Wednesday, May 20 – Thursday, May 21, 2026

CAASPP Make-Up Exams: Wednesday, May 20 – Friday, May 22, 2026 (Sessions held in the afternoon)

iReady Diagnostic (EOY) (3rd–5th Grade): Tuesday, May 26 – Friday, June 5, 2026
How to Help Your Child Succeed
To ensure your student feels confident and ready to do their best, please help us with the following:

Attendance Matters: Ensure your child arrives at school on time every day, especially during their testing windows.

Rest & Nutrition: A good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast make a huge difference in focus and energy levels. Breakfast is served at 7:30-7:55 am in the Cafeteria.

Encouragement: Remind your child that these tests are simply a chance to show how much they have grown. A positive "you've got this!" goes a long way.

At Bahia Vista Elementary, we remain committed to the importance of regular school attendance. Consistent attendance plays a vital role in student learning, engagement, and success. To support this goal, we invite families to consider the following:

Be consistent: Establish a daily routine with a regular bedtime and morning schedule. Prepare clothing, school materials, and other essentials the night before, and use alarm clocks to support timely mornings.

Be organized: Whenever possible, schedule medical appointments and family travel outside of school hours or during school breaks.

Be direct: Talk with your child about the importance of attending school on time every day and how it contributes to their academic and personal growth.

Be mindful: Monitor your child’s attendance and stay aware of any missed days. Partner with the school if challenges arise, and recognize and celebrate improvements and positive habits.

Be healthy: Encourage an active lifestyle and ensure your child gets adequate rest so they arrive at school refreshed, focused, and ready to learn.
Let’s continue to make attendance a priority. Together, we can help our students build a bright future—one school day at a time!
