Start with Hello Week, a program by Sandy Hook Promise, is upon us, taking place September 14th through 18th. Our elementary school counselors are ready for a meaningful week focused on building connections and preventing social isolation. Thank you in advance for your support in making this week a success!
Here is a quick look at what our students will be participating in throughout the week: Counselor-Led Lunch Recess Activities

TK–1st Grade: Friendship Dance – A fun, active way for our youngest learners to move together, laugh, and celebrate friendship.

2nd & 3rd Grade: Handprint Activity – Students will create a colorful, collaborative art display showcasing how everyone plays a hand in our community.

4th & 5th Grade: Find a Friend Who… (Bingo Game) – An interactive mixer game designed to help upper elementary students discover shared interests and connect with new peers.
How You Can Help at Home
- Ask your child about someone new they greeted or spoke to today.
- Talk about what makes a good friend and how small acts of kindness can brighten someone's day.
- Encourage your child to participate in Wear Green Wednesday!

The Elementary Years - Family and Community Tech Norms -
Wednesday, September 23rd from 6:00 - 7:00 pm via Zoom. Learn what the research says about youth and screens, get practical tools for building healthy family tech habits (especially in the tricky 4th & 5th grade years), and discover how Marin County parents can tackle this together. Leave with a concrete action plan and less screen-time anxiety. Hosted by Let’s Talk and ScreenSense.

Scheduled Fire Drill on Friday, Sept 18 at 2:00 PM
As part of our commitment to keeping our students and staff safe, we will be conducting our first routine fire drill of the school year on Friday, September 18, at 2:00 PM. Safety drills are an essential practice to ensure our students know how to respond quickly, safely, and calmly in the event of an emergency. Teachers will review safety protocols with students beforehand so they feel prepared and comfortable with what to expect.
What you should know:

No action needed: This is strictly a practice drill.

Visitors: Access to the main office and school grounds may be briefly paused during the drill while we account for all students and staff.

Talking to your child: We encourage you to ask your child about the drill on Friday evening to help reinforce what they learned about safety!
