National Bullying Prevention Month
October is National Bullying Prevention Month, a time when our entire school community comes together to focus on kindness, respect, and inclusion. At Bahia Vista, we strive to ensure that every single child feels safe, valued, and excited to learn every day.  Creating a safe school environment is a partnership between school and home. Here is how we are celebrating and how you can support your child this month:
  • Wear Orange on Unity Day (Wednesday, October 21): We invite all students and staff to wear orange on Wednesday, October 21. Wearing orange is a visible message showing that we stand together for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion!
  • Talk About Kindness at Home: Ask your child what it means to be a good friend or how they can help someone who looks lonely at recess. Encourage them to be an upstander—someone who speaks up or gets help when they see someone being treated unfairly.
  • Encourage Open Communication: Remind your child that they can always talk to a trusted adult at school—whether it’s their teacher, a counselor, or a playground supervisor—if they ever feel unsafe or see someone else who needs help.
Thank you for partnering with us to build a caring, welcoming community where all of our Bahia Vista Dragons can thrive.

In service,
Julio Villalobos- Principal
